Wouldn’t we all love to come home to a newly designed bedroom?! Well, that’s just what happened to this lucky teen- a surprise bedroom makeover. In less than a week her outdated bedroom transformed to a bright and minimal boho oasis. Let’s start with the first step of the design process:
The vision I had for this space involved brightening it up with white walls, textured pillows, and natural wood elements. I brought in a pop of color in the wall decor behind the bed, but kept everything else neutral. We worked around existing furniture and bedding, but got all new lighting, drapery, wall decor, and pillows. This project needed to be budget friendly, so most items are from Target, Home Goods, and Etsy. The woven wood lamp and hanging wicker chair brought in a boho vibe, while the brass lamps kept the space feeling modern.
For the desk area, I wanted change the orientation of the desk to face the wall and create it’s own little corner. My plan was to create a framed picture wall with natural wood and balance it with some hanging plants. The curtains needed to be re-hung with new hardware that blended in for a soft look.
What a difference some paint can make! Painting the walls white really helped open the space up and created the perfect backdrop for these coastal etsy prints. The creamy fur rug and textured pillows also helped softened the space.
My favorite part of this space is the chair. Doesn’t it make you want to curl up in it and read a book? I know I do!
When we had initially talked about ideas, a picture wall was a must. I came across this framed picture collage and loved the idea. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a way to get it there in time, so I recreated the look myself (with my husbands help, of course).
This project was so fun to put together, but what was even more fun was seeing how excited my clients daughter was when she saw her new bedroom! Mission accomplished.
Stay connected!

Hi ,
I know this is an older post but do you have any idea where the bed was purchased? My daughter is looking for something similar.
