Welcome to one of my new favorite rooms in our home- the garden bathroom. You’ll quickly catch on to why it’s named that once you see the floral wallpaper. Although this bathroom is tiny, it was no small renovation. We completely gutted the space that once had dated tile and a fiberglass tub and replaced it with gorgeous marble finishes, quality brass fixtures, and a full size shower. Today I’m sharing a tour of the finished bathroom with all its details, along with the before and after pictures that show not only what we started with, but the process of its completion.

Fixtures
I wanted to use timeless and quality finishes and I knew just where to look. Signature Hardware has anything and everything you could possibly need for a bathroom remodel. They were gracious enough to provide the Barbour widespread sink faucet, the Alliston exposed pipe shower faucet, the Elmdale vanity and polished brass towel ring to be featured in this design. Polished brass fixtures was just what the space needed to feel elegant while also keeping with the traditional style of my home.
I absolutely love the Elmdale vanity and choose the white quartz for the countertop. I’m a sucker for any furniture with tapered legs and the added storage space sold me. Oh and not to mention, the soft close pull out drawers… thank you for your amazing designs Signature Warehouse!
Finishes
Now on to the finishes… Marble has always been my finish of choice. It’s so classic and the light and subtle variations are great for small spaces. A huge thank you to Riad Tile for supplying the gorgeous Casablanca Carrara 2″ Hexagon tile for the floor and the 6″x12″ subway marble tile for the shower. Truly some of the highest quality finishes I’ve worked with and I’m still shocked that this is my bathroom!
Wallpaper
Because the space is so small, it could afford a fun wallpaper. This large scale chintz print is the Whitney floral by Schumacher. Another upside to a small space is that a nicer wallpaper is more affordable since you don’t need so many rolls. I love the soft color combination with its light aqua blue and green with a touch of warmth in the ivory flowers. I’m so happy with how it turned out and can’t get enough of it!
Another great wallpaper source is Photowall. They have a great selection of wallpaper, prints, and posters at really affordable prices. If wallpaper isn’t your thing, I’ve gotten several of their chinoiserie posters framed and they are beautiful, and at a fraction of the cost of most similar styles.
The brass Alliston exposed pipe shower faucet makes such a statement in contrast with the marble shower and I loved that you can see if first thing when walking into the space. We eventually plan to add a frameless shower door, but since this is our downstairs bathroom, we haven’t been in a hurry.
Before
Now let’s take a peek at what this space looked like when we first moved in. Dark, dated, and boring. Since this is our main bathroom downstairs, it was the first on my list to update. The fiberglass tub had got to go! Thanks to the help of Western Aspect Builders, we were able to get a majority of this renovation done in just one week! Aaron did such an amazing job and his attention to detail is evident when looking at his work. If you’re ever looking for a contractor, he is the best!

This is beautiful! May I ask where you got
The small urn on the countertop? It fits the space perfectly.
Thank you

Hi Debbie,
Thank you, I’m so glad you like it! The vase is from Home Goods a while back. I fell in love with the color and it ended up working perfectly in there. If I could link it, I would!
Thank you for following along!

This turned out so beautiful! Would you mind sharing what grout brand and color you chose to use with this marble? Did you seal it after install too?
courtneyhrms7@gmail.com says
Hi Megan,
Thank you so very much! I’m actually not sure the grout brand, but we got it at floor and decor and it’s color is alabaster! I grabbed a grout sealer from Home Depot that you just spray on which helps, but I will admit that the lighter grout is a lot less forgiving! ha! But I love it and just have to keep extra attention on it to keep it up. Hope that helps!
Thanks for stopping by!

The bathroom is absolutely beautiful! I’m definitely pinning for the time we renovate our main bath (not soon enough 🙂 ). It’s used by my older daughter so this would be perfect; just feminine enough without being too girly. I do have a question in regards to the mirror though. When following the link it only shows a gloss white frame. However, yours looks more like a flatter white with some slight distressing. Am I just not seeing it wrong and the gloss white is what you have?

Hi Rebecca,
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you like it 🙂 I found that mirror on facebook marketplace and painted it with an off white chalk paint and added a little distressing to show off the carved details. I’ve actually seen similar mirrors on there often, so I’d suggest keeping an eye out! I try to find similar styles to link, but unfortunately am not able to find the exact same one since it’s vintage. Hope that helps!
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful bathroom.. I love the Schumacher wallpaper! How is the wallpaper holding up in the bathroom- any problems with peeling or mold due to moisture?

Thank you so much! We haven’t had any issues, however this is our downstairs bathroom so the shower doesn’t get much use at all, which is why I was comfortable wallpapering. I’m not sure I’d use it in our master bathroom or a bathroom that gets a ton of use, but I’ve seen it used in other bathroom designs so it might be fine! Sorry I’m not more help!
