Christmas is my favorite time of year! I grew up counting down the days until my mom would let me get out her christmas decor and start decorating. That was my “job” back then, and things haven’t changed much! Except now I get to be a little more creative and don’t have to find a spot for the same home-made santas each year (thank goodness). Even as an adult, it’s still just as exciting and magical!
Today I’m sharing how I decorated our living room and kitchen this Christmas. This years theme didn’t stray too far from last years. I kept the same neutral tones, but replaced some of the glitz and glam with more rustic elements. One of my favorite additions is this reindeer antler pillow by Hearth & Hand at Target. I was drawn to it’s simplicity (and it’s affordable price tag).
My wrapping paper is a combination of plaid, pinecones, and brown kraft paper. I’m excited to top off the gifts with some greenery and ribbon. I always try to find a variety of patterns, within the same style so that they complete the tree.
Our flocked christmas tree is adorned with a variety of mercury glass, silver, bronze, and gold ornaments. On top of that I layered pinecones dipped in bronze, linen ribbon with champagne shimmer, and glass icicles. I love the subtle blend of rustic and elegant pieces.
I was so excited when I found this faux reindeer fur pillow at Target. And it even matches our reindeer hide from Norway! Layering a variety of textures and pillows is a great way to make the home cozy during the winter.
You could say I have an obsession with candles… so when I found this candle holder , I just had to have it. Nothing makes a space more romantic than candlelight and a cozy fire.
My kitchen didn’t get too much attention this year but I did manage to throw some wreaths on the barstools. Sometimes all you need is a little greenery to dress the home up for the holidays!
