Toile is making a come-back, or at least, it has in our home. But did it really ever go out?? In my opinion, toile is timeless, which is why it’s become a reoccurring theme throughout my decor.
Join me today as I share a tour of our powder bathroom with, you guessed it, toile wallpaper! I think you’ll enjoy the wallpaper’s dreamy countryside scenes along with the elegant gold accents that complete the space’s romantic, yet playful, personality.

Wallpaper
Small spaces like powder bathrooms are perfect for showcasing fun wallpaper. While I’d typically find this toile wallpaper too busy for a larger space, it’s perfect for a small bathroom. If you look closely, you may spot the deer hiding in the brush, or a bird on the branch. I loved it’s elegant way of incorporating nature, while also reflecting a traditional style.
Vanity
We swapped out the original built in vanity with this beautiful, creamy white Signature Hardware vanity. It’s tapered legs, inset cabinets, and white quartz set a soft tone for the space, allowing for more vibrant accessories, like the gold Louis mirror and Gold bird towel ring. The soft close cabinets and roll out drawers make the vanity fully functional and great for storage, which is a huge plus in our family! This is our second Signature Hardware vanity. You may recognize the style from my previous bathroom design, and if you missed it, you can see the full tour here.
Lighting
Lighting is probably my favorite aspect of design. It sets the style, brings dimension, and can make such an impact. I personally prefer sconces framing a mirror rather than overhead sconces, both for looks and for the lighting itself. Our powder bathroom had a sconce above the mirror, so we had to rewire to add sconces on the sides. With the mirror centered on the vanity, it left only about 6″ between the mirror to the wall, so I had to find a narrow sconce that would fit comfortably. These Visual Comfort Classic sconces fit the bill. The overhead Broche light is one of my favorites, carried over from our previous home’s laundry room.
Plumbing
Because most of my budget was spent on the wallpaper and lighting, I went with a more affordable faucet. While this antique brass faucet was only $58.99 on Amazon, it’s finish looks and feels so high end and I loved it’s traditional shape and style.
