Today I’m so excited to be sharing a design I just completed for one of my dear clients. What’s so exciting about this particular design is the drastic change between the before and after pictures. The room went from dark and crowded to an open space filled with light and elegance. With each detail we were able to reflect my clients taste and personality, finally creating the home they envisioned.

Soft white walls, natural light shining through elegant drapes, and pops of blue hidden throughout. Doesn’t the space feel like it’s supposed to?
The previous space had a beautiful, bold blue paint that covered both walls and ceiling. Although we loved the color itself, my client wanted the space to have more light and feel inviting which meant the color had to go. And you’ll see why when you see the new paint below!
Holy moly, is this the same room? The space feels so open now with the lighter walls, long drapes, and gorgeous crystal chandelier! My client has fabulous taste, don’t you think?
We didn’t want to loose the blue all together, but instead we chose to incorporate it in more subtle ways. The painting is one of my favorite pieces in the room. It carries the light blue from the rug and the navy blue from the pillows. We also found these chic glass lamps for each side of the sofa and a fiddle leaf tree to fill the corner.
The ottoman was adorable, but not size appropriate for the space so we went with a rectangular ottoman instead. The tufted linen ottoman we replaced it with was the perfect contrast against the dark leather sofa. We moved the armchair to the library and replaced it with a gorgeous, leather and linen arm chair that seemed to be made for the space.
Ironically, my client had 2 of these mirrored cabinets but only one was being used in the living room. To balance the space, we brought in the other one to frame the fireplace. I love the symmetry of the matching cabinets. We paired them with mercury glass temple jars for a traditional look.
Lanterns are one of my favorite home accessory. I love to stagger them to bring dimension and warmth to a space.
The two armchairs were reupholstered in a taupe paisley pattern. The change of color really helped soften the space, and the pattern brought in some personality. We also replaced the lamp with this gorgeous mercury glass lamp that fits perfectly between the two chairs. By justing updating the cabinet hardware and decor above, the space was given a whole new feel.
This was such a fun project! But in the end, a happy client is my main reward. We are thrilled with the outcome of the living room transformation and now moving on to the next room! Thank you so much for joining me today. As always, I’m so happy to have you here and hope you leave inspired to design a home you love!
