There’s something so elegant about a staircase simply layered with natural mixed garland and ribbon for the holidays. Today I’m sharing how to effortlessly create the classic look using real touch faux pine garland and eucalyptus.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years while decorating for the holidays, it’s that faux garland is the way to go. They don’t shed annoying needles or dry out after a week, and you can reuse them each year, saving so much money. Holiday Staircase Garland

1. Supplies

Here is what you need to recreate this look:

4. Ivory Silk Bows
5. Zip ties 
6. Ornament hooks
7. Wire Cutter

2. Hang the Garland

I attached the garland to the railings using clear zip-ties and fishing wire. I prefer using zip-ties because it secures the garland and keeps it in place. I used fishing wire for other areas that needed to be held together, but ultimately found that zip-ties work the best. I don’t tighten them all the way until I’ve made sure all the spacing is right, then I pull tight and cut.

3. Style the Garland

Once the garland was secured to the railings, I added the eucalyptus stems throughout. I used wire cutters to cut the stems off the branch, and tried to leave enough stem to be able to attach to the garland. Next, I hung the bows using bendable ornament hooks and attached them to the garland.
