It’s the first day of Autumn, and I know I’m not the only one who’s been anxiously awaiting its arrival. For those of you who, like me, are excited to start decorating for the season, this post is for you!
Today I’m taking you on a tour of my living room and dining room decorated for Autumn. I didn’t have to spend a lot of time or money, but just added a couple touches that made the space feel warmer and ready for the season. I’ll walk you through some of the easy decorating ideas and share sources so you can create the look yourself!

The mantel, sometimes viewed as one of the most intimidating things to decorate, can actually be one of the easiest. All I did was layer some greenery as the base and tossed some pumpkins along the shelf and- voila! I like to try to use things I already have, so some of the greenery is from my year-round stash, and the rest is a really pretty muted lambs ear from Micheals Fall floral collection.
Another easy thing I do to make the space feel cozy is layering throw blankets. I like to have them on just about every piece of furniture. Shop my favorite Fall throw blankets below.
I kept the coffee table simple with pumpkins and an arrangement of roses from Trader Joe’s. The color scheme is based around my throw pillows and sofa colors so I wouldn’t have to buy any seasonal pillows. That way I can use what I already have, but make it feel like Autumn by adding the muted tones and pumpkins.
Autumn is the time to start bringing out all the candles. I always try to find some yummy Fall scented candles and have linked my favorites below for you to shop!
On my console I’ve added a basket full of assorted pumpkins and greenery. It’s a super easy way to decorate and I love how natural and effortless it looks.
The pumpkins continue to find their places throughout the dining room as well. If you have a bowl, throw some pumpkins in it! A pretty platter? Top it off with a pumpkin.
