Are you looking for ways to make your home feel warm and inviting for Fall? My favorite place to start is the fireplace mantel.
Today I’m sharing just a few easy tips on how to create an elegant Fall Mantel. It doesn’t seem like it would be a difficult task, but there are times where I’ve tried to recreate a look from Pinterest and it turned out NOTHING like the pictures. Ever happen to you? It can really be so frustrating! It’s taken me a lot of trial and error, but I’ve gained some tricks along the way that you might find helpful!
Come take a quick tour of my living room while I walk you through the details and share where to get the look!

1. Layers
Leaves, branches, floral, you name it- layer it! The more the merrier. I mixed some Fall leaf stems along with lambs ear and some muted orange floral stems, all from Micheals. I’ve learned that mixing a variety of things is key. I also prefer working with individual stems vs. garland because its easy to position around decor.
2. Pumpkins
Of course, pumpkins are a given when it comes to Fall decorating. But you can get creative with how you use them. I had to practice self control and not throw every pumpkin on the mantle, which I typically like to do. This time I used just a couple for the center of the mantel and a majority I staged with some lanterns and a basket around the hearth.
If you’re trying to find ways to incorporate pumpkins, try getting creative with baskets!
3. Candles
Make the space feel warm and cozy with candles. Staggered candles on each side of the fireplace balance the mantel and create a warm, seasonal glow. Dimension is key. If you need too, place objects under the candles to create a variety of heights. I used a Tupperware under one of mine. If you look closely, you may spot it!
Pretty simple, right?
An easy way to start is to grab a variety of candlesticks, greenery, and pumpkins and have some fun with it! If you don’t know where to look for them, I’ve gathered some fun options for you to browse through below.

What a beautiful home! You gave me so many great ideas for decorating my house and mantel this season. My family is decluttering our house over the weekend and then we’re getting carpet cleaning. After that, we finally get to decorate for fall, and I’m so excited, especially since we just repainted our fireplace.
