A bright and serene coastal contemporary home. That was the request of my client when we started, and I think we created just that. This project has turned into one of my favorite homes I’ve done. Mainly because they were willing to think outside the box and trust me. That can be one of the hardest aspect of my job. When a client is reluctant to trust you, the end result often doesn’t reflect the full vision. But in this case, I think we nailed it. From the many shades of blue textured pillows, to the beaded chandelier, all the way to the rattan chairs. This home screams the beach, but in a more quiet and sophisticated way.

You may recognize the living room from my post a while back. If not, you can visit the original reveal here. This year we decided to update the blues and continue on to the dining room. I started the project with a design board to demonstrate what I envisioned the space to look like once complete.

Final Design
Muted rattan, woven blues, and white washed finishes create the perfect combination of coastal vibes. Below you’ll see a picture of the dining room before the transformation.

Design Board
We wanted a large art piece to be the focal of the room and bring in color. It’s the first thing your eye is drawn to when entering the space and it needed to be bold.
We balanced the art with recycled glass vases and Monstera branches on one side and a clam shell with succulents on the other. I love how the plants bring in green, while staying consistent with the coastal environment.

We updated the pillows and rug in the living room with a combination of blues. The variety of textures and patterns created a more boho- beach vibe which was exactly what we wanted.

The fiddle leaf tree and plants help bring color and life to the space.
