Welcome back!
I hope you enjoyed last weeks tour of our new dining room. If you missed it, you can see the before and after pictures on the post here!
Today we’re on to the next room reveal- the boys room! The classic and nautical style is inspired by our traditional Cape Cod home. My goal was to create a space that is timeless and grows with them, while also bringing playful elements for the present. Come follow along as I walk you through the design and share where to get the look!

First things first, the wallpaper! I knew I wanted to do stripes and fell in love with this Farmhouse stripe by Brewster Home fashions. It’s the perfect shade of blue and brings in so much personality. While I wasn’t initially thrilled about the dormer window, I think the stripes really work with the space and give it that classic feel I was hoping for. A big shoutout to Brewster Home Fashions for providing the wallpaper for this design!
While I wanted to bring in nautical elements, I didn’t want to go overboard with a theme. I tried to keep it simple and bring in statement pieces like this Sailboat Art print painted by a talented Artist I found on Etsy.
I pulled this design together in a matter of weeks during the move, so it really ended up evolving without much planned other than the wallpaper and inspiration. The faded navy throw pillow and throw blanket was a Target find and I love how they brought some contrast, but still complimented the soft blue. They also tie in this blue textured lamp from Kirklands.
I found these adorable whale bookends on Amazon and chalk painted them white.
Now on to the baby’s side of the room!
I updated the crib bedding with the help of my friends at Carousel Designs. They had so many adorable prints, I had such a hard time deciding on one. In the end, I went with the taupe buffalo check blanket and pillow, along with the ivory pleated crib skirt and matching sheet. The classic pattern layered on the faded navy textures created the perfect combination.
This lantern chandelier spoke to me the minute I saw it online. The ceilings aren’t too tall so I needed something semi flush and wanted a lantern style, so this one was a winner.
The vintage carved whale display came from the cutest nautical antique shop in Cape Cod called The J.M. Byron House. I came across their page on Instagram and so glad I did! It created an adorable little space out of an awkward corner.

Love, love, love! Can you share where the giant toy basket came from?
Thanks!
Hi Kaylie,
Thank you so much! It’s actually from Home Goods but I got it several years back. They usually have a lot of great basket options though.
Cheers!
