It’s a boy!
I’m so excited to share the nursery design concept with you today. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I’ve been bursting with nursery ideas. I had to find out the gender as early as possible so I could start the planning process. Luckily, we found out at 9 weeks (thanks to the sneak peek gender test) so I’ve had some time to play around with ideas. If it was a girls nursery it would have been a lot easier for me since I already have an obsession with pink, flowers, and bows. But a boy…well, that’s been a bit more of a challenge. My goal has been to keep the nursery balanced between the classic elegant style I love, while also stimulating imagination and playfulness. I thought bringing in nature would be the perfect way to encourage adventure. When I found this mural by Susan Harter Muralpapers, I knew it was just what I was looking for.
The nursery’s color scheme has soft shades of baby blues, taupes, and white. The mural of trees will be the backdrop behind a distressed white cast iron venetian crib by Bratt Decor and Bella Notte bedding from Lavender Fields. My furniture selections will reflect a classic, french meets shabby chic style and I plan on using some antique pieces I already have. I’m also incorporating playful elements like an animal pillow by Jolie Marche, a buffalo check rug by Erin Gates for Momeni , and pom pom trim curtains. The chandelier I’ve picked is from Restoration Hardware and I can’t wait to see how it looks in the space. I’m also thinking of adding some sconces to frame the mirror above the dresser for additional light. And most importantly, there’s the rocker. I’ve gone back and fourth and finally think I landed on the winner. Still waiting to finalize the style and material selection, so you’ll have to wait and see what we decide on at the final reveal!

Below is a sample of the mural we’ll be hanging on the crib wall. I love it’s soft shades of blue and have used it as my inspiration for the room’s design. When I look at it I feel the room come alive with it’s whimsical nature setting. And if it spurs my imagination, I think it will be perfect for our little guy.
Here are some of the fabric and paint samples I’ve been playing around with. I’m thinking I’ll keep the bedding a simple white with just a pop of blue in the quilt. For the rocker I plan on using a soft cream so that the space stays light.
And last but not least, we have the nursery design board. What do you think? Fit for a prince? I think so and I can’t wait to start pulling it together!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m so happy to have you here and hope you’ll stick around for the nursery reveal. You won’t want to miss it. Feel free to follow me on Pinterest or Instagram to stay updated on the nurseries progress!

Hello, I have a client interested in practically recreating this whimsical baby boy nursery. The pillow fabric is exactly what we are looking for. I was wondering if you sell the fabric by yard, or if we would only be able to get it by ordering the premade pillows you’re selling here.

Hi there! I don’t sell the fabric, but you can purchase it at Jolie Marche!
Have a great day!

Hope that helps!
