The warm weather here at the beach had me eager to brighten up our home for summer. I started with our living room, (If you haven’t seen the fireplace wall transformation, check that out here). Once that space was finished, I felt like the dining room needed a little refresh as well. With just a touch of color and some bright whites, the space now feels ready for summer.
I had so much fun adding some color into the space! After just a couple inexpensive changes, the dining room already feels more welcoming. Take a look for yourself as I walk you through the changes! I’d love to hear what you think!

CURTAINS
New curtains were used to bring in blue. In order to save money, I used some curtains from my bedroom a few years back and sewed them together to make them long enough. The soft blue gave a little more contrast than the previous white curtains and makes the space feel more inviting. Curtains are a great way to bring color into a room. Now that there’s a bit of color, I’m realizing how drowned out it was with all the white!
MIRROR
I’ve been on the look out for a French Trumeau mirror for a while now, but to get a real antique it can cost a fortune. This antique mirror I found on Craigslist and paid a small fraction of what its worth. I love how it dressed up the dining room and brought in gold. They gray tied in perfectly with the blue curtains and really popped against the white wall.
TABLE DECOR
I brightened up the table by using this white linen runner and a white floral centerpiece. I found both the runner and vase from Home Goods. Sprinkling some bright floral throughout the space instantly made it come to life.

Hi Patti,
I couldn’t find one the right size, so I designed this and had my husband build it! Home Depot has some similar styles you can check out!
Thanks for stopping by!
