One of my favorite things to do when finishing a project is comparing the before and after pictures. It’s always rewarding to see the transformation. This home makeover is no short of a transformation! We picked out all new furniture and decor, while also updating some exiting pieces to give it a calm, coastal feel. My client wanted minimal and simple, while also incorporating coastal elements and neutral, soothing tones. Follow along and see how simple updates make a HUGE difference. Make sure to stick around for before pictures at the end of the tour. You won’t recognize the space!

LIVING ROOM
We picked things with clean lines and transitional features like the track arms sofas and the wood coffee table. The area rug is a subtle blend of grays and neutrals, providing a calm color scheme for the space. We used the oversized painting to bring in personality and the printed throw pillows to bring in a pattern.
The pair of gray chairs were the perfect contrast to the neutral sofa. We wanted to soften things with this detailed cocktail table with a mix of the natural wood and rustic white to brighten things up.
FRONT ROOM
While we kept the living rooms style versatile, we wanted the front room to reflect a more coastal feel. The soft blues, coral decor, and the ocean painting helped bring the look together.
The front room is not only the family dogs “hang out”, but also doubles as a guest room. We opted for a darker gray upholstery since the sofa would more than likely be a spot for the dog to cuddle. They chose to keep the room open with minimal furniture so the sofa could fold out to a bed when needed, making the space more functional.
This shelf was originally a dark wood and crowded into a corner in the living room. We decided to move it to the front room and paint it a creamy white. It ended up filling the wall space perfectly and being a great spot to display decor.
BEDROOM
The bedroom was transformed with just new window treatments, bedding, lighting, and decor. They already had the furniture so it was just needing those finishing touches to pull it together. Again, we stuck with neutral tones and clean lines to create a soothing atmosphere.
Now for the fun part! Check out the before pictures below and you won’t believe the difference!
