Here we are, just weeks away from my due date and I’m relieved to have finished the nursery in time! And let me tell you, there were moments when I wasn’t sure if the baby would come before the nursery was finished. So much thought and time was put into making this space special and I’m so excited to share the reveal with you today.
A special thanks goes out to my sponsors: Susan Harter Muralpapers, Momeni Rugs, Lavender Fields, Jolie Marche, The Velveteen Rabbit, Newton Baby, and Rooted n’ Grounded home for providing their products either free of charge or at a significant discount. This design couldn’t have been possible without their support. Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoy the tour of my little prince’s nursery!

When we found out we were having a boy, I knew I wanted to design a whimsical nursery that reflected both my husband’s and my love for nature. I envisioned a space brought to life with a landscape of trees, furry animals friends, and magical storybook tales. It was important to me that the space not only evoked imagination, but also carried a classic sophistication. This balance was achieved by using a soft blue and neutral color palette, elegant furniture pieces, and a variety of playful elements.
Once I decided on the nursery’s theme, I knew I wanted a mural of trees on the crib’s wall. But finding one that was in line with my vision was harder than I thought. I finally came across Susan Harter Muralpapers and fell in love with her beautiful, hand painted designs. The scene carried me into what felt like a tale of Peter Rabbit and knew I had found the nurseries inspiration.
I was so thrilled when they agreed to collaborate with me for this project. They were so helpful from the very beginning. In addition to sending multiple samples, they helped plan the wall design and delivered it on time with detailed directions for installation. It was a wonderful and seamless process.
But the landscape of trees created a story that had just begun. Next, I looked for a way to incorporate characters and came across the woodland animals pillow by Jolie Marche. With their complimentary pillow, I was able to fill my forest with bunnies, squirrels, and hedghogs. I loved how the classic animal print coordinated with the nurseries theme.
The crib’s bedding is by Bella Notte Linens and was provided through a partnership with Lavender Fields in exchange for featuring it in the design. The Marseille quilt has lattice embroidered on a cotton velvet and I paired it with a cream linen crib skirt. Lavender Fields is my go-to for Bella Notte Linens and they are always a pleasure to work with!
I also wanted to bring in some playful elements, starting with this light blue tartan plaid Momeni rug by Erin Gates, which they so graciously gifted for use in my design. The rug has a classic pattern, muted colors, and made of 100% hand woven wool. It ended up being one of the staple pieces in the design and is even more beautiful in person!
Picking a glider was not an easy thing for me. I wanted one that was comfortable, attractive, and affordable which seemed to be a rare find. After MONTHS of searching and comparing fabrics, reviews, and prices, I finally found a winner at The Velveteen Rabbit. I was grateful when they agreed to offer a discount in exchange for sharing it in my design and promoting their awesome selection of Best Chairs gliders. I loved how the Natasha swivel glider adds a modern twist to the traditional wingback chair style.
I wanted to make sure I didn’t pick any furniture that would compete or take away from the wall’s design. This Venetian cast iron crib by Bratt Decor complimented the mural perfectly by letting it show through it’s elegant and antique frame. Not only does it blend with the other furniture, but it helped create the timeless look I was hoping for.
The cribs mattress was provided by Newton Baby in return for sharing it in my design and giving my genuine feedback. I initially heard great things about the Newton Baby Mattress and was anxious to see it for myself! It’s breathe through design eliminates the fear of suffocation and it’s waterproof material makes it 100% washable. I also loved that it’s Green guard Gold certified, meaning it’s free of off-gassing and toxic chemicals. We’re looking forward to testing it out and will keep you posted once we’ve put it use!
The oval mirror and antique chest of drawers were both thrift store finds. The sconces are actually candle sconces from Hobby Lobby that we converted into light sconces. This fun DIY project ended up costing a small fraction of the cost of sconces I had initially wanted from Restoration Hardware.
This adorable chandelier is by Restoration Hardware. If you saw the nursery concept, you might have noticed I had originally planned for a different light by RH. I ended up changing my mind last minute because this one was a little more size appropriate for the space. And I’m so happy I did because any bigger and we’d be hitting our head on it!
The bookshelf from Pottery Barn was a great size for such a small wall. I wanted something that I could use for toy storage and books, but could also showcase some cute decor.
Incorporating a bible verse was important to me and I’ve always loved Psalm 1:2-3. How fitting to have a verse that talks about trees in my nature themed nursery? I thought so and had a great experience working with Rooted n’ Grounded Home to customize the wall sign. They did a wonderful job and were kind enough to provide it at no cost in return for sharing it in the design.
The nursery books are held together by cast iron bunny bookends.
The nursery is ready but won’t be complete until our bundle of joy arrives. My hope is that as he grows, he finds this space as special and inspiring as we do.
Thanks again for joining me today! Below I’ve provided the direct links to the selections that made this nursery design come to life. If you’re planning a nursery, you will want to check them out! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for more decor inspiration!
