Every place we travel to we try to bring back something that reminds us of our adventures together. Throughout the years we’ve accumulated quite the collection of travel posters and maps which have taken over most of the wall space in our study. Today I’m excited to share with you our study and office space. Although it’s less than perfect, and a bit cluttered, it’s cozy and special to us.
Do you have a room like that??

The space came together piece by piece and will continue to evolve as we run out of wall space. But one of my favorite parts of the room are these Magnolia Home pillows. I love the different textures, colors, and tassels. If you like them as much as I do, I’ve gathered some of my favorites for you to shop below. Just click on the pillows you want to shop for direct links!
Now check out these awesome barn wood closet doors! Can you believe my husband built them himself? Mind you, this was his FIRST wood project. (Proud wife moment)
I also love the charcoal black trim we picked out to contrast all the wood. Because of all the dark finishes, we went with a light wall color so the space didn’t feel too heavy.
I have to point out the ” Murren” poster with cows on it. As an interior designer, I like to incorporate personal touches. When I look at this picture, I think about how cool the adventure was of traveling in a cable car up to this cute mountain town nestled in the Swiss Alps. This is probably my top favorite place we’ve traveled to. If your ever looking for a fun adventure, you must go there!
Similar to the travel wall, I like to add subtle details like these vintage map curtains help bring in that “old world” charm.
Another thing I love is this leather chair. Unfortunately, our dog shares my feelings and has claimed it as his own so it has definitely acquired a “rustic” look.
As you can see, we have such a wide range of travel memorabilia. The gallery wall has become an eclectic mix of travel posters, maps, and even carvings.
However, our souvenirs don’t stop there, the reindeer fur is from our latest trip to Norway and was one of my husbands “must haves”.
Now let’s take a look at the other side of the room! Transitioning from the travel wall, here is my husband’s desk and his work pictures.
We mix matched a bunch of wood pieces for a warm and rustic feel. As you can see, the steal X framed desk on casters, the type-writer keyboard (actually sounds like typewriter!) and the desk lamp bring in some industrial elements.
The space is definitely a hodgepodge of furniture and memories, but it makes for a cozy study and office.

We are redecorating my husband’s office space. I love the idea of the posters of the places you have visited. That is a very special touch! The greenery in the corner on the pedestal accent table is also my favorite. Is this real? If so, what kind is it?
Much love to your blog and instagram page. Thank you for all the inspiration!
