Today marks 2 years since our wedding and I’m still dreaming of this special day. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting. I can still see my handsome husband in his uniform standing nervous in the snow anticipating our first look. Our closest friends and family arriving from all over the country to celebrate us. The snow falling all around the crisp winter air and our cozy little lodge where we said I do. The day was full of love, laughter, happy tears, (and a little bit of stress, lets be real). But I couldn’t have dreamt of a better wedding.
I’m so thankful for everyone who contributed to make this day become reality. It was quite aggressive of me to take on the task of planning my own wedding from out of town in just 5 months and it proved to be a bit more work than I thought. Thankfully with the help of some dear friends, it came together as I had envisioned and every detail was captured by our amazing photographer, Melina Wallisch. I had so much fun designing our wedding; from the invitations to the decorations, all the way to each song played. A special thanks to R Wedding House for helping me coordinate the day of and ensure it all went smoothly!
So today I thought I’d share just a glimpse of our wedding in honor of our anniversary. You can see more pictures from our feature on Style me Pretty.
Hope you enjoy our winter romance!

The wedding was in the little town of Incline Village, in Lake Tahoe. I loved how quaint the small mountain town was and thought it was the perfect setting for our intimate winter wedding.
Of course you have to get pictures of the shoes since nobody actually sees them the day of. And there’s no wedding shoe like Badgley Mischka. Check out these gorgeous shoes below!
As much as I loved my heals, the snow called for some uggs. I made these wedding uggs by adding the bows and snowflake brooch. I also got all my bridesmaids silver uggs for our pictures in the snow.
The invitations were from White Gown Invitations. They turned out so beautiful that I ended up ordering wedding programs and menus with the same design. And they were incredibly affordable and easy to work with!
This dress by Kenneth Winston was my dream dress. But it turns out finding a backless dress with sleeves was nearly impossible. Luckily an incredibly talented family friend was able to sew on sleeves to this backless dress.
My loving and patient bridesmaids. God knows they had to put up with me being a shipwreck the morning of, but we got through it! So thankful for such sweet friends! Our robes were from The Fancy Pigeon on Etsy.
Our first look was so magical I will never forget it..
The bridesmaid dresses are by Adrianna Papell and we got them for a steal online. I wanted something silver and shimmery and fell in love with this dress.
The Bouquets were filled with winter white peonies, white roses, brunia silver berries, and dusty miller.
Nathan had groomsmen come from all over the country. Look how handsome they all look in their uniforms!
The fur wraps were from etsy and were the perfect touch for a winter wedding.
The venue was at the Chateau at Incline Village, a beautiful lodge on a golf course. It was the perfect combination of mountains and elegance, which was exactly what Nathan and I envisioned.
We exchanged vows in front of a cozy fireplace, glistening candles, and the sound of snow falling outside. It truly was magical.
The reception turned out absolutely perfect. It was so romantic with the christmas lights twinkling all around, Frank Sinatra singing in the background, and everyone we loved there to share the evening with us.
And of course the drinks were flowing. How else could I get everyone on the dance floor?
Our cake was not only beautiful, but delicious! Flour Girl Wedding Cakes did a fabulous job bringing my vision to life. And in case the cake wasn’t enough, my grandma and aunt made the most beautiful cookies you could imagine!
One of my favorite parts of the night was our first dance. We twirled around to Dean Martin “Winter Romance” and it couldn’t have been more romantic. Whenever I hear the song it takes me back to this moment.
We danced…
and danced!
