Hello, it has been a while! A full season, in fact. While some days it feels too warm to believe autumn is here, the changing leaves and the cooler nights are proof that the seasons are indeed changing. This year I jumped to the occasion and have embraced all the feelings of fall in our home. Instead of the vibrant blues and greens fitting for spring, you’ll find a subtle pallet of earth tones displayed throughout each space. I nearly jumped straight into the magical holiday season, but thought these warm autumn scenes deserved a space on the blog. I hope todays tour inspires you and provides helpful decorating ideas that you can incorporate into your home this season.

A Cozy Place to Gather

This summer we were completely entangled in a kitchen remodel that is slowly being completed, and I mean, slowly. We ran into a few hang-ups, such as a slow leaking water line that damaged the new wood floors, and some cabinet repairs that are being managed as I write this. I CAN’T wait to reveal the final kitchen transformation, but for now you’ll see some changes in our living room as a result of the new kitchen design. There’s much more space now which allowed me to spread the furniture out and bring in one of my favorite furniture pieces, the wood bookcases from my office. The added wood tones bring in so much warmth and character, perfect for the season. Layers of cozy throw blankets, moody green velvet pillows, and the warm glow of candles set the mood and invite you to stay and unwind.

I can’t wait to redo our fireplace… it’s next on the project list. We also plan to add wood beams in the living room and kitchen. I have many grand plans…my husband can’t wait (I say this with sarcasm).

I miss my endless supply of dried hydrangeas I had in Virginia, but here in Colorado I have a full forest of leaves. These cut branches have filled nearly every vase in our home and I love the drama they bring. Oh, and you can’t beat free!
Fall Dining & Entertaining
I hosted a lovely fall dinner for my dearest friends and prepared Beef Bourguignonand my favorite pumpkin cake for dessert. It’s always so fun for us busy moms to slow down and gather around a table for some much needed girl time. And while I do enjoy cooking, my favorite part of hosting is setting the table. I’m so obsessed with these gorgeous plates designed by Sanderson for William Sonoma. They were the source of inspiration for this tablescape.
