If you’re like me and fighting the winter blues, there’s no better cure than a Spring tea party! And while that might not be enough to entice you to join, let me add that Victoria magazine is our special guest!
Last Spring I had the pleasure of welcoming Victoria Magazine into my home to shoot scenes for their March/April 2024 issue. I’m still pinching myself thinking it could have been a dream and I’ll wake up at any moment. Ever since I was a young girl I adored the elegant homes and gracious gardens that spread across their pages. I have to admit, Victoria played a significant role in shaping my style and has inspired my love for romantic and timeless spaces. So when they contacted me to share my home in their Spring issue, you can imagine my excitement!
Today I’m sharing my Spring tablescape, but you’ll have to get the March/April 2024 issue to see the rest of my home tour. You can order your copy here!
Now brew yourself some tea and take a seat, the party has just begun…
I can’t tell you how fun it was for me to stand back and watch the talented ladies of Victoria do their thing. The photographer, Stephanie W. Steele, blew me away with her knowledge and I was so inspired by her ability to capture a moment. She even shared some photography tips with me that have proved to be so helpful! The directer, Melissa Sturdivant Smith, amazed me with her attention to detail and the effortless way she made things come together. Working with these two ladies was an absolute blast!
Radiant Roses
Is there anything more elegant than roses? Subtle shades of pale blush and ivory roses from Grace Rose Farm create the focal point of the table and are gathered in a French wire planter from The Enchanted Home.
Delicate Details
One of the many things I love about Victoria magazine is the delicate details woven throughout. That’s what makes it so fun to look at.. you can get lost in a scene while taking it all in. I tried to harness my inner Victoria and find elements that I felt would evoke the same excitement for their readers. Things like these beautiful hand embroidered linens from Henry Handwork, and the pale blue floral tablecloth by Love Shack Fancy. I was fortunate enough to find this Asiatic Pheasant china by Burleigh Pottery years ago on Craigslist and thought this was the perfect opportunity to showcase it. Altogether, each detail played a part in creating this romantic setting.
Family Heirlooms
My grandmother hosted formal tea parties for us granddaughters every year. I remember admiring the table so meticulously set with beautiful china, glassware, and the most thoughtful details. I’m so fond of those memories and honored that she chose to pass down her silverware set from her wedding, along with these beautiful etched Fostoria wine glasses and embroidered napkins, all of which are shown in todays tablescape.
I hope you enjoyed joining us for today’s teatime! As always, I’m so grateful to have you here. A very special thank you to Victoria Magazine for this incredible opportunity and for making it such a wonderful experience. Now don’t forget to order yourself a copy of the magazine!
