The magic of Christmas has made its way through our home, room by room. Elegant satin bows adorning the tree, velvet stockings hung on the fireplace, and layers of mixed winter greens atop nearly every surface. Today I’m sharing it all as I take you through the main living spaces of our home.
The Living Room
The living room is the space that we spend the most time, which is why it’s taken me a bit longer than I hoped to share it. On a normal day, the children’s books and toys are scattered throughout, while the sofa transforms into an obstacle course. Lucky for you, we tidied up so you can get a clear view of my holiday decor.
This year I didn’t jump in with a theme, as I typically do. I was, however, inspired by a Christmas tree I saw in a magazine that had large satin bows. I took the idea and ran with it. Slowly but surely, bows found themselves nearly everywhere…

Floral
Floral seems to always be a constant in my decorating. There’s just something about roses that make a space feel so elegant and romantic. On my coffee table I have ivory roses and mixed greens from Trader Joes, and throughout the rest of the space is faux floral from Joann’s and Michaels.
The Christmas Tree
I used 4 inch Ivory satin ribbon and tied them into bows and attached them on the tree with ornament hooks. A variety of mercury glass, ivory, and champagne ornaments fill up the rest of the tree. Probably the simplest tree I’ve done, but looks just as beautiful as the rest.
The Fireplace Decor
Decorating such a large fireplace mantle is sometimes daunting, but I do love a challenge. This year I used 4 garlands: two on top of the shelf, and two swagging along the front. The two on top are from Hobby Lobby and the others are target. I used command hooks on the front corners and center to hang the garland, then added some floral and a bow in center. The pale blue chinoiserie vases were a lucky find at Home Goods.
The Dining Room
Now on to the dining room. I just finished hosting a holiday party and decided to keep out the glasses because they’re pretty enough to be part of the decor. A mix of french country accents, silver serveware, and mixed greenery dress the space up for the holidays.
Just a few days ago this whole dining table was covered in vast array of appetizers and desserts, all strategically places around the centerpiece. The hydrangeas, greenery, and wreaths are all Trader Joes, and the tabletop trees are from years past.
The Kitchen
A rare look into our kitchen… Just a simple garland around the window and a few holiday touches are all it needs to feel ready for the season.
The Entry
The nativity deserves to be front and center, as it is the reason we celebrate this season! A reminder that I often need as it’s so easy to get caught up in all the holiday festivities, decorating, and gift giving. Let us not forget the ultimate gift of Christ’s birth this holiday season and share in the joy that it brings!
