The Chandelier
This room took me a while to figure out because I was torn between different styles. Ultimately, I ended up building the look based on the statement pieces I found. One of which was this stunning crystal chandelier from Crystorama. This light instantly took the room in a more glamorous direction, which I was excited about. Since the room is small, I didn’t want to make it too busy, but rather focused on key pieces to bring the personality. The light is one of those key elements that sets the tone for the space. A big thank you to my friends at Crystorama for providing the chandelier to be showcased in this design!
Layers of White
While color is a very popular trend right now, there’s something about a white bedroom that I am drawn to. It feels clean, calm, and welcoming. That being said, I painted the walls and ceiling in Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. The faux dupioni drapes and upholstered headboard (discontinued from Target) are both a warm ivory, creating a soft contrast with the white walls and bedding. The bedding is the Legend Luxury Marcella Egyptian Cotton Sateen collection by The Company Store. For added texture, I brought in this amazing Sheepskin rug which has been a total hit with our little ones.
Statement Pieces
The space took an unexpected turn when I came across this gorgeous Currey & Company chest on facebook marketplace one Sunday afternoon. While I was planning to keep the nightstands white, I couldn’t pass up the chance to claim this stunning piece. It took the glamour to a whole new level. One I wasn’t sure I knew how to pull together, if I’m being honest. Luckily, I’m a frequent facebook marketplace scroller and shortly after I picked up the chest, I found this stunning mirror listed from an antique mall. It’s an unlikely pair, but I think it’s fabulous together… don’t you agree?
Accessories
My favorite accessory for any space is fresh floral and these white cloud roses by Grace Rose Farm are the perfect touch of elegance. On the wall behind them are sketches from our different travels in Italy. I love when wall decor tells a story or evokes memory, bringing something special to a space. The small bowl with a rose in the center is from my grandmother and it’s stacked on one of my favorite books- “Soul of the Home: Designing with Antiques” by Tara Shaw, a book that largely influenced the rooms decor. The tapered marble lamps on each side of the bed are by Safavieh.
Antiques
Beside the bed is an antique pastry table with a gorgeous marble top from Europe. I spotted this beauty on facebook marketplace and it’s one of my favorite finds to date. While I typically like my bedside tables to match, I loved how the gold leaf coordinates with the gold mirror on the other side of the bed, creating a nice balance.
And if you’re wondering what on earth is behind this arrangement, it’s a small door leading into the room above the garage. While I would love to drywall over it, my sons love the “secret” passageway… so I suppose it’ll stay for now. Just do me a favor and pretend it’s not there…
